The big news today is that The Very Last Book About Mounted Combat is now for sale at Paizo.com. You've probably also noticed the new banner ads pointing to the lulu store as well. If you play pathfinder or D&D 3.5, I urge you to check out the book - horses often get short shrift in fantasy RPGs, and I felt it was high time that somebody did something about it.
The books aims to provide the tools that players and GMs need to add the excitement of chivalry, thunderous charges, and fancy trick riding to the game without forcing the PCs to focus their entire character concept on it. The expanded rules provide new actions in combat for mounted characters, simplified rules to use in generating mounted foes on the fly, and a host of new mounts for PCs who don't necessarily want an animal companion following them around everywhere. There are even rules for Jousting, which I personally think is worth the price in and of itself!
We are continuing to work on a new, wordpress-oriented version of the site. I hope to have it in place before Gen Con, but this time we are not going to go live with a site overhaul before it is very thoroughly vetted. |

Not much to say tonight. I've been keeping late nights trying to get work on various projects done. I often suffer from insomia, so I'm no stranger to that, but It's surprisingly hard to keep focused in the wee hours, especially when I'm under a lot of pressure at work. That said, I hope to have more news soon! Watch this space. |

The entire run of the X Files is now available on Netflix instant view. My oldest daughter decided that she was intersted in finding out what it was all about, so we're working our way through the first season. I remember when the series premiered and my wife and I used to get together with friends to watch the show on fridays. I was a big fan of he show for the first three seasons or so, but I started to get frustrated with the "mytharc" that seemed to get just a little too convoluted to follow any more.
I'm also amazed at how different the production values are, even though it doesn't seem like it was that long ago that the show was made. It may have something to do with the fact that the show was shot on film vs. digital video. It's weird how my perception of image quality has changed so much that I can look at something I saw years ago and be so shocked by the way it looks. *EDIT* In deference to the numerous typos originally appearing in this newspost I will refrain from posting updates from the couch while wedged between my kids and watching Phineas and Ferb at the same time. |
