The Empire

The Grand Army of Nordland. I started collecting this army when 6th edition came out. I was expanding my collection of Greenskins by buying models from the Warhammer starter set - and lo and behold, I also got a ton of Empire soldiers asa bonus!

The Grand Army of Nordland
Imperial Handgunners. I added two marksmen with Hochland long rifles to the mix.

Handgunners
Imperial Spearmen. I actually painted up a Griffon banner for them, although since the new Empire book came out, they can no longer take that particular banner as a unit standard.

Spearmen
Imperial Swordsmen. This unit features a musician standing heroically on a rock.

Swordsmen
The Huskarls of Salzenmunden. My Empire army hails from Nordland, and these greatswords are my usual bodyguard for the army general. I like to field a unit of twenty, seven wide by three deep.

Greatswords
The Riddare Salzenmunder - not a great picture of these guys. I'll see if I can get a better one up at some point.

Knightly Orders
I've never liked the pistolier models, so I converted these mounted riflemen out of the Free Company sprues and some other bits and bobs I had on hand. I use them as either Pistoliers or Outriders, depending on my mood. The unit champion is armed with a repeater pistol.

Outriders
This is one of two gun carriages I scratch-built for my artillery. It can carry either a Great Cannon, a Mortar, or the Hellaster Volley Gun.

Gun Carriage
I built this supply wagon to go with the Gun Carriages. I plan on using it with some homebrew rules in an upcoming mega-battle.
